In Search Of...

...Thanksgiving Decorations. Not instructions on how to make a pine cone turkey, or turkey ornaments for those weird year round holiday trees, but old fashioned decorations. The paper turkeys that fan out...those plastic-like girl and boy pilgrims that were rough on one side and smooth on the other side. I'm looking for decorations but with all of the stores already in 'high jingle' alert, it is actually a challenge to find them. Three major stores had completely bypassed T-Giving and moved right into Christmas.

...Toys that aren't dipped in lead. Just like anything else in our modern world, there is a certain alarmist, you're in danger, crisis-like stigma attached to this lead paint toy scare. HOWEVER, tell me you haven't flipped over a toy package to see where it's made and the answer made you think twice.

...the perfect casserole. Tried a new one the other night. It was a spinich/egg noodle/cheese casserole. I downloaded the recipe from the internet. It was what my husband and I will forever refer to as 'the belly filler'. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. It was very much "there". It simply filled your stomach with ingredients.

...Thanksgiving recipes. While we're on the subject of recipes, I'd like some of yours. I always like to try one new recipe at Thanksgiving and this year, the Star Morning Show will dedicate space on its homepage to YOUR Thanksgiving recipes. It's gotta be off the beaten path. Don't send along the ol' green bean casserole or sweet potato dish. Send your recipes to me via this blog, or email them at staram@1007.com
