Looking To Start An Organization...

Okay need a good name for a group of people who STRONGLY oppose moving trick or treat night to another date other than HALLOWEEN!!!

PAMH - People Against Moving Halloween ----not very catchy

PATOTM - People Against Trick Or Treat Moving --- doesn't make sense

OTOTOH -
Only Trick Or Treat On Halloween ---it's got potential, but I think it means something dirty in another language...

Okay, here's the deal...help me come up with something that 1) is easy to say & easy to remember 2) helps get out the message that Trick Or Treat time should not be moved for High School, College, or Pro Football, or any other event, sporting or otherwise, that happens to fall on Halloween. It's Halloween --- the candy doesn't taste as good any other day!

Happy Halloween! IT'S FRIDAY!!!

We Have A...Situation

This morning on the show we talked about Santonio Holmes being busted with pot. We said whatever may come from the law is nothing compared to what he will suffer from Coach Tomlin. Coach Tomlin is a cool, bad %&& coach, who when trying desperately to control his emotions, uses the "coach speak" to keep it in check.

So today on the Star Morning Show, we said the word that Coach Tomlin will use to keep himself in check (a.k.a. keep him self from going OFF on Holmes) will be "SITUATION". We said that he will use it so much that the Situation Drinking Game could be in play.

Without further ado..let your weekend and the game begin, because this afternoon, this article appeared on Triblive.com with quotes from Coach Tomlin ---

Holmes inactive for Sunday's game

Steelers starting receiver Santonio Holmes has been ruled inactive and will be replaced by Nate Washington for Sunday's game against the New York Giants at Heinz Field.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that Holmes -- who will be charged with possession of marijuana after Pittsburgh police said that three blunts were found inside his vehicle Thursday afternoon in Uptown -- won't dress for the game and is scheduled to meet with Tomlin on Monday.

"His situation has created somewhat of a distraction," said Tomlin, who met with Holmes prior to Friday's practice. Holmes did not attend practice.

Holmes was stopped about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Centre Avenue and Mario Lemieux Place by officers searching for a vehicle with a similar description.

Tomlin said the team is still gathering information about Holmes' situation. He said the team didn't suspend Holmes.

Dallas Baker and rookie Limas Sweed will be the No. 3 and No. 4 receivers, Tomlin said.

In other news, running back Willie Parker (knee), tackle Marvel Smith (back) and defensive end Aaron Smith all missed practice yesterday.

Marvel Smith is out for the Giants game and Parker is doubtful. Tomlin said that Aaron Smith, who has missed practice all week because of personal reasons, is questionable for the game.

Halloween Countdown!!!

Over the weekend, we took our son to 'practice' his trick or treat skills at Idlewild Park. Never had kids...so never been there for Hallowboo. Wow!!! So busy but ya know what ...a really GREAT event! Make sure you save the entire day because much of the park is open. There's trick or treating in StoryBook forest, tons of places to take photos, lots of rides are open, there are pony rides, hay rides, lots of hot cider and great fall foods. The entire park is also decorated for Halloween, but not in a 'freak out the little ones so they sleep in your bed 'till Thanksgiving' way.

Check out Hallowboo here!

Blogger's Block...

This is the fourth time I've started this blog --- seriously. Like I've got something so earth shattering to hit you with that I must choose my 'blog words' carefully or risk what...my ability to type?!?!? Oh, here's radio program co-host J.R. looking over my shoulder, mocking me. That's enough to get me going.

If you're new to our radio show and/or this blog, I really want to thank you for checking us out and hope you continue to listen to our show and by all means, email anytime. Respond here or send us an email at jrandkate@1007.com. I love to hear good and bad comments about the show and always welcome suggestions for guests and your ideas for things that you would like to hear.

So this will be the place where I talk about things that happen behind the scenes of the show, things that we don't talk about on the air (for good reason), and things are just...life.

Life for me is a husband of almost 10 years and two year old son. Let hi jinks ensue.

So allow me to empty my brain right here...

1) We're making the transition to "big boy bed". When I say we, sadly I do mean all THREE of us. It's not going well. The most our son has slept alone in his bed is six hours. This means that in the past two weeks, my husband and I have spent six hours in the same bed --- asleep. The situation is forcing creativity.

2) Dear Senators McCain and Obama. (A letter I'd love to send to both today, the day of the last presidential debate). Announce tonight that you're sending both of your respective campaign staffs on permanent vacation. No more spin, rhetoric, finger pointing, mud throwing, etc. Release a comprehensive report that includes 1) your voting records in Congress, 2) your 'wish list' for your potential cabinets, and 3)your proposal for our future in Iraq and on Wall Street. Put it on your website. Buy a billion :10 second commercials sending me to your website to read this report. No more lipstick wearin' pigs. No more Dave Letterman dodging and subsequent "make goods". No more angry reverends. No more gossip page rumors to distract us from serious taxpayer issues. See you November 4th. End of story.

3) Halloween: Not just for Ho's. Is it me or have womens' costumes gone NUTS?!?!?! It's always fun getting girly for Halloween and wearing some cool wigs, eyelashes, and exaggerated cleavage. With that said, unless I have a brass pole installed at the end of my street, it's unlikely that I'll be leaving the house as Little Red Riding Hood, Dorothy, Little Bo Peep, a bar maid, a vampire, a woodland pixie, a superhero, a cop, a fire"person", a referee, a mermaid, a good witch or a bad witch this Halloween. I'm not a prude, but I don't remember ANY of those characters wearing 5 inch clear lucite stilletto boots --- and a thong. You know what...I found a good hat for Halloween and that's all a girl really needs.
